Build A Beautiful Accent Wall In A Few Simple Steps
Brittany Gancars with @follow.us.home participated in the Spring One Room Challenge this year on her daughter’s bedroom makeover. While they got to work picking out all new furniture and decor, they realized that one element of the space could really transform the overall feel - Decorative Moulding and an Accent Wall. After coming to that realization, Brittany quickly contacted Ornamental for some amazing trim options.
The Plan
Brittany’s daughter’s space was a traditional, builder-grade room that they wanted to transform to better reflect her style. To do that, she needed to rip out all of the old standard trim in the space and replace the casing with our decorative 1824 Casing. She also wanted to add even more texture to the space by adding a beautiful reeded accent wall with our new Narrow Reeded Moulding.
“We knew we wanted to add some function along with “pretty” on this wall. So we started with this reeded moulding from Ornamental and some MDF that we ripped down, and installed it. Then we bought these 2.9” pegs & predrilled the holes and screwed them right in.”
Finished Space
Brittany wanted to create a beautiful space that reflected her daughter’s style, and she went above and beyond in this room. Along with adding in all of the texture from the decorative moulding, she painted the trim in a stunning chameleon pink and it brought such a dreamy vibe to the space.
“Our little girl absolutely loves her new room. It’s the sweetest little room, a dream really. This was the hardest room I’ve ever created because all I wanted was for it to be just right for her- I was nervous, but I think it came out just right. What do you think? Best room yet?”
