The One Room Challenge - Spring 2022

This Spring, Novo Building Products has partnered up with 3 different guest designers for the 10th-anniversary edition of the One Room Challenge. These designers are utilizing products from all of Novo’s companies to transform their spaces.
This challenge is in full swing for designers who are challenging themselves to transform a space in just 8 short weeks. This year, the event is focusing solely on its hundreds of guest designers. While guest designers have always had the opportunity to participate, with no Featured Designers this season, it leaves the door wide open for talented designers from all over the nation to join in on the 8 week-long events and gain exposure, work with brands like us, and take part in a very engaging and supportive community.
Novo Building Products is proud to once again be a sponsor of this event, and we are excited to team up with a few of the talented guest designers as they take on various rooms in their homes. Check out the designers that we will be partnering with on the next page. They are sure to produce some amazing finished spaces at the end of the 8-week challenge that will feature beautiful products from each of our entities.
Leslie Davis
Leslie Davis with @deeplysouthernhome has been a partner with Novo Building Products for the past few years while taking on the One Room Challenge. Leslie is notorious for her beautiful designs created with dramatic mouldings, and because of this, she has utilized many large moulding profiles from Empire Moulding and Millwork in all of her projects.
This year, Leslie is taking on her closet and is continuing the dramatic moulding look that is in her bedroom from the last challenge. “This time we are tackling our primary bathroom and closet. I will be adding panel moulding similar to what I did in our main bedroom with leftover material from the last challenge, along with some new Crown Moulding from Empire Moulding and Millwork.”
Fara Wilson
Fara with @thefarafix is taking on this challenge and has chosen to renovate her kitchen with Ambrosia Maple Shelves from Ornamental Decorative Millwork, along with brand new balusters and concealed fasteners from L.J. Smith Stair Systems for her stair landing in her kitchen.
“My goal is to organize and breathe new life to my kitchen, visually and seamlessly connect the open galley space to the newly renovated adjacent dining room, and refresh my light brown maple cabinets without completing a full remodel. And, all the while staying on budget!”
Brooke Russel
Brooke Russell with @brooke.casa.del.sol has also taken up this challenge this season, and she will be completing her cottage guest bedroom this season utilizing different products from Ornamental Decorative Millwork and Empire Moulding and Millwork.
“I will be completely designing and DIYing our cottage guest bedroom! I’ve knocked down walls, built new ones, and restored the original knotty pine ceilings. It is truly a blank slate with so much potential! I am using a gorgeous wallpaper that will be framed out by picture moulding. I will also be adding in a few vertical 1X4s for added interest and also trim out the ceiling with cove moulding.”
