Making A House A Home With Rustic Beams
Ambrosia Maple Beams have been used in many different homes over the past few years to bring in additional wood tones and add a beautiful decorative element to ceilings. One project in particular in 2018 was Annie Anderson with @zevyjoy where she added Ambrosia Maple beams to her living space, bringing in beautiful texture to her bright home.
Annie was thrilled with how her beams project turned out in her home and reveled in their beauty for the next three years. However, when she purchased a new home last year, she could not take those beams with her and she knew she wanted to bring their design into her new space. To do that, she reached out to Ornamental Decorative Millwork for some assistance.
The Plan
Annie moved into her new home in the summer of 2021, and while it was a beautiful space, she knew she had to make some upgrades to create her very own sanctuary. Going for a coastal yet modern style, she got to work setting up all of her furniture and new decorations, and the space quickly came together. The only thing she was missing from her old home was her Ambrosia Maple Beams.
Products Used
Annie knew she wanted to bring the same texture to the space that the Ambrosia Maple beams brought to her old space, so it was an obvious choice to go with the same beams.
“I was thrilled when given the opportunity to work with Ornamental Moulding as they are the best! They have everything from decorative moldings – decorative accessories. These faux beams are high quality and simple to install.”
“They are available in a couple options: prestained gray faux beam and maple beam. They have a rustic feel to them as well. We went with the maple beam and chose to stain them in a special walnut color. I love the depth they carry with this stain (although they were beautiful as is).”
Finished Space
After laying all of the beams in place on the floor after they had been stained, Annie began to partner up pieces as they chose the layout of her ceiling.
They used chalk lines to measure out where each beam would be placed. Next, they attached (using screws) the mounting plates that were used to hold the faux beams. Each mounting plate and beam was also cut to size as they went along installing them.
Lastly, they placed the shell of the faux beam to the mounting plates, screwed them in and then they were left with a beautiful finished space!
“While it was lovely, we made some changes. We went from this… To brightening things and warming them up with Ornamental Moulding’s faux beams. We added these beautiful rustic beams and they instantly warmed up this whole space as you can see below!”
“Honestly, I can’t get over the change! It feels so fresh and cozy in here now.”
